LaToya S. Asher, DPT
LaToya S. Asher, DPT received her doctorate of Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL in 2007. She obtained her Masters of Physical Therapy at University of Maryland at Baltimore in 2004. Since graduating, Dr. Asher has focused her practice in outpatient orthopedics and sports rehabilitation. Over the years, she has enjoyed working with a variety of patients, including college athletes, geriatrics, weekend warriors to name a few. Given her background in ballet and work with dancers, she is most recently pursuing her interest in women's health. When Dr. Asher is not researching her next continuing education course, she is busy enjoying being a new mother of a 26 week old baby girl. Her other interests are spending quality time with her husband and family, picnics at the park, pilates, and shopping.
Nielsen C Atchinson, PT
A patient once gave me a Thank You card with a note "Thank you for making me walk again, I will never forget your patience and your help", I may have forgotten who gave me that card but it gave me satisfaction knowing I can make a change in someone's life.
I graduated from Emilio Aguinaldo College in Manila, Philippines in 1991 with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. I came to New York in 1995 and stated my career working in sub acute/nursing home. I lived in New York City for 10 years where I learned different cultures, values and individuality.
I moved to the DC, Maryland and Virginia area in May 2005 and worked for an out patient/orthopedic clinic for 5 years. I joined Active Rehab LLC in March 2010. I attended several conferences about manual therapy and mobilization and I want to learn more. My goal in the next 2 year is to be a certified orthopedic case specialist. I'm interested with research however I can't find sufficient time that will allow me to do that.
For my free time, I love going out to movies, fine dining and hanging out with my Husband playing computer games.
Rebekah Coleman, LPTA
Rebekah Coleman is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. She graduated from Northern Virginia Community College in 2004, She has experience in multiple settings which include nursing home and outpatient facilities. She joined Active Physical Therapy in 2010. In her free time, this Southern Maryland resident, enjoys hanging out with her family and friends.
Ishita M. Doshi, MPT
Ishita graduated with Masters of Scienc. in Health & Rehabilitation Sciences with concentration in Musculoskeletal Physical Therapy from University of Pittsburgh in 2012. She was working at New York Spine and Sports Rehabilitation Medicine before she joined Active Physical Therapy group. She has attended various workshops on manual therapy and have worked as a Research Assistant for a study on Total Knee Arthroplasty and Rheumatoid Arthritis under Dr. Sara Piva.. She wants to further enhance her skills by taking up continuing education courses on hands on approach for various musculoskeletal dysfuctions. In her free time, she likes to read, listen to music and hang out with friends. She is seeing patients at our Clinton location.
Jim Luna, LPTA
Jim Luna has been a PTA since 2000 when he earned his AAS at Northern Virginia Community College. Jim has also extended his knowledge base by attending numerous continuing education classes related to Sports Injuries, Manual Therapy and Weight Training.Jim is currently treating patients at our Clinton Center.
Dionnea Manning McMorris, PT, DPT, CSCS
Dionnea is a native New Yorker, she earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree at New York University in 2007 and her Bachelor of Health Science Degree from Howard University in 2004.
Dionnea is certified through the National Strength and Condition Association as a Certified Strength and Condition Specialist, CSCS, since 2006.
Dionnea is passionate about educating and helping people return to function, in everyday life as well as athletics. Dionnea is a frequent volunteer with area Breast Cancer Walk events and has worked in the sports/ Orthopedic Rehab setting since 2007.
Trisha Whittaker, MOT, OTR/L, CHT
Certified Hand Therapist
Trisha has over 8 years experience as a Registered Occupational Therapist. She is a graduate of Saint Francis University for both her bachelor and master degrees. In 2010-2011, Trisha attended Drexel University and received a certificate in the Hand and Upper Quarter Rehabilitation. She then received her Certification in Hand Therapy in 2012. Trisha has experience in out-patient, acute and subacute rehabilitation. She has experience in working with a variety of ages and diagnoses.
In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, dancing, and watching movies.

Yonas Habte, DPT
Yonas received his Bachelor's from University of Maryland, College Park in 2006 and he went on to receive his doctorate in Physical Therapy from George Washington University. He is the newest member of our clinical team and is based at our Laurel Clinic. His hobbies include playing golf, tennis, and basketball.
Barbara Huddleston, OTR/L, CHT, CPAM
Certified Hand Therapist, Spanish Speaking
Barbara has over 26 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist. She is a 1985 graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina. She received her Hand Therapy Certification in 1991. In 2010, she received her specialty certification in Physical Agent Modalities. She brings advanced skills in the rehabilitation of Upper Extremity injuries. Her extensive experience makes her fully qualified to evaluate and treat acute and chronic conditions and injuries.
Lauren Russell, DPT
Lauren received her Bachelors degree in Exercise Physiology from West Liberty University in 2008 and then went on to achieve her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Old Dominion University in 2011. Lauren enjoys and has experience in treating orthopedic and sports related injuries with special interest in knee pathologies. She has adopted a more manual “hands on” approach with her patients in order to meet their individual needs efficiently. She is currently taking steps toward receiving a Sports Certified Specialist (SCS) title to help further her professional development.
In her spare time she enjoys playing basketball, softball and flag football. Lauren was a student-athlete in college where she played 4 years of basketball and had the opportunity to play in two NCAA tournaments.

Jessica Ghrist, LPTA
Jessica Ghrist, LPTA graduated from Anne Arundel Community College in 2011. She specializes in sports physical therapy and orthopedics. She likes to spend one on one time with her patients. In her free time, Jessica shows horses. She shows American Quarter horses around the Mid-Atlantic. She loves the Baltimore Ravens. Jessice is currently working in our Germantown Center.

Hand Therapist
Christine has over 4 years experience as an Occupational Therapist. She is a graduate of St. Francis University for both her bachelors and masters degrees. She specializes in out-patient hand therapy with exceptional skills in the treatment of post-surgical patients as well as dynamic and static progressive splinting.
Kareen (Kay) Villamore, PT
Kareen graduated from the University of East Raymon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center in 2006. Kay enjoys traveling. In her free time, Kay plays basketball, badminton, and volleyball and likes to do Zumba. Kay was a member of her university’s performing arts club. She is fluent in Tagalog and proficient in Spanish. Kay likes to treat patients with back and knee conditions.

Lynn Brewer, MPT
Lynn Brewer, MPT earned her Master of Physical Therapy in 2001 from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and an undergraduate degree from Shepherd College in 1998. Lynn has extensive clinical experience in the outpatient setting serving local communities.
Lynn has been instrumental in developing breast cancer rehabilitation programs, and has published a professional research article on the topic. She also has experience in treating a variety of diagnoses including urinary incontinence, vertigo disorders, balance disturbances, and a variety of orthopedic conditions. She is a national and MD state chapter member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), and belongs to the neurology, women’s health, and orthopedic special sections.
Lucas McCollum, LPTA, ACSM
Graduated from Jacksonville State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology and a minor in Nutrition. Played four years of Varsity Baseball for Jacksonville State University Gamecocks as a pitcher. After college, played two years of Independent League Baseball for the Selma Clover Leafs in the Southeastern League. Continued his education at Carroll County Community College in the Physical Therapist Assistant program, now working full-time as a LPTA. Lucas likes competitively participaing in Triathlons, Cycling, and Running Races. In 2008 and 2009 Lucas competed in the prestigious Ford Ironman World Championship and The Foster Grant 70.3 Ironman World Championship. He has also competed in over 50 multi-sport events all over the world which includes representing Team USA for the ITU Longcourse World Championship for the sport of Duathlon and Triathlon.
Lucas is a member of the highly talented Snapple Triathlon Elite Team and races in the Elite/Am division for the sport of triathlon. He has multiple overall victories and set course records at the sprint, olympic, and half-iron distance triathlons. According to USAT Lucas is ranked in the Top 10 in the USA and #1 in Maryland for Triathlon and Duathlon and has made All-American status the past 5 years.
Lucas specializes and enjoys treating sports related injuries from swimming, cycling, running, and pitching. As well as treating patients with overuse injuries from sports, Lucas also is certified as a Clinical Exercise Specialist and Certified Health Fitness Specialist through the American College of Sports Medicine and helps people from all levels of ability achieve their fitness goals. Lucas currently works with athletes in many sports to develop overall strength, speed, agility, endurance, weight loss, and flexibility.
